Step back in time and experience the charm of the Pongola Express Coach Camp, where two beautifully preserved 1911 railway coaches form the heart of this unique accommodation. Staying here is like sleeping in a piece of history, surrounded by the timeless allure of these vintage coaches. Each of the seven compartments within the coaches can accommodate either 2 or 4 guests, with the entire camp hosting up to 22 guests in total. The facilities have been thoughtfully designed to combine nostalgia with modern comfort, featuring two showers, four toilets, and even a classic bath, ensuring a comfortable stay for all.

A spacious, covered verandah and an inviting indoor dining area connect the coaches to a well-equipped kitchen, creating a perfect gathering space for guests to socialize, share stories, and enjoy meals together. The kitchen comes complete with a fridge, chest freezer, microwave oven, gas stove, and all the essential crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils, making it easy to prepare your favorite dishes during your stay.

In addition to the railway coaches, the Stasiemeestershuisie at Pongola offers cozy accommodations for up to 4 guests, with two bunk beds and a private bathroom that includes a shower, basin, and toilet. While the Stasiemeestershuisie provides its own private space, guests share the communal facilities, including the kitchen, deck, and braai areas, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

To ensure a seamless experience even during loadshedding, the camp is equipped with electric lights and geysers throughout. However, guests are encouraged to bring their own LED headlamps or other portable lighting to fully enjoy this unique blend of historical charm and natural beauty, day or night.
